What is a Real Estate Climate Expert?

A Real Estate Climate Expert is often a licensed real estate salesperson or broker in the State that they practice, but may also be a contractor or other local service provider who works with property owners on real estate related issues. They should have multiple years of experience in the residential real estate industry and have in-depth knowledge of their area and local market.

Real Estate Agent Experts will typically be sent leads from people looking to relocate to a safer climate area, will need insight on the new community they are considering, the local real estate market, and the area as a whole. It’s important to understand that these individuals may have questions on climate safety, quality of life, and cultural fit in relation to where they are moving from, so experts should expect questions on this topic and have insight to provide their clients. A Continuing Education course is available for real estate agents to become an expert, and earn CE hours.

Contractor and service provider experts may serve their existing local market, or individuals who are moving. These experts are providing products and services to property owners that help them address climate disasters – from storm shutters, safe landscaping, sprinklers or battery backup on one end, to cleanup and disaster response on the other. Leads here will consist of individuals and companies looking to protect and upgrade their properties, while keeping their families safe locally.
